My HP pavillion laptop is about two years old and has a Toshiba DVD+R burner. When I tried my newly bought 8x blank dvd’s (+) in it it did not recognize the disc. When I put in a 1-2x dvd I had bought years ago, it worked just fine. How can I get the burner to recognize the newer dvd’s, or alternatively, is there a place were I can purchase older ones?
You may be able to upgrade the firmware.
You may be able to find 1-2x blanks, but don’t be surprised if they are of low quality. New DVD burners are cheap, so you may want to go that route, instead.
