Is it crap?
Did your dog die?
What does it have in its pockets, we wonders…
Death!, or nothing at all! he said, cleverly working in two guesses at once…
Oh, no. That would be 21 and 22, wouldn’t it? Ah, well…
Please tell me, so I can begin banging my head on the desk.
I vote that we do what we’ve done with some of the past games. Why don’t y’all talk amongst yourselves and come up with a suitable final guess that you can agree on as a group, and submit that to YLT as #20.
So ‘crap’ and ‘death’ and ‘nothing’ won’t count as questions, just as suggestions for questions. Sound good?
Works for me, since I’ve taken more than my share of guesses already. I’m still scratching my head about the dog, anyway.
I think it’s poop.
Not unless you’re one of those folks whose poop don’t stink.
Okay, Blue, it’s not poop, crap, or a monkey. Don’t take the dog thing too far, Hugs, but yes, she did die . The death part has nothing to do with the ‘it,’ though.
Good luck, and talk it over. You should beable to figure this out.
In hindsight, that did sound rather insensitive of me. Sorry about that.
But you know where I was going with it…
Now that I’m free to comment, doodoo is obviously not the answer. Either it’s a material object (ruled out by the first question), or it’s the act of pooping, which would be a bodily function (ruled out by question 11, given that the answer is not ‘yes’).
I agree with Yo La Tengo. You guys have done a good job of narrowing it down, and it’s very gettable at this point.
My poop doesn’t stink, it smells like roses Hu.
And Yogurt Lingo, one day the answer *will *be monkey.
Oh yes, one day it will, and then who’ll be laughing?
WL, if it’s so very gettable, WHY can’t I GET it?!?
ARRGGGGHHHHH!!!
Another suggestion to toss around: ‘Mind’?
Seems to fit most of the clues (with a bit of stretching): 1 syllable, dogs have minds, most 3 year olds ‘mind’ (sometimes), and though I haven’t been here long, the general intelligence level would seem to suggest that it’s often discussed.
Of course the obvious exception would be the ‘nothing to do with sex’ part, but I guess for some folks…
Anyone?
I keep thinking sleep, except that’s a bodily function. Maybe dream then?
We have a can of that too, which my wife is forever reminding me to use. I don’t get it – which is worse, the smell of shiite, or the smell of shiite and flowers? 'Course I don’t understand scented TP, either – like my butt can smell the difference…
I’ll jump in here…
Hugs now, (regarding dog thing) not a problem.
Blue, hmmmm… What will I do with you?
Hugs now (again), wouldn’t “mind” clarify as material? Mind/Brain seem to go together in my book.
I’m guessing it’s “dream.” Anyone else have any ideas?
YLT, I should have guessed that if it wasn’t ‘thought’, it probably wasn’t ‘mind’ either.
I think peepthis has it. I’ll go with dream, too.
I’d argue that a brain would be material while the concept of a ‘mind’ would not be.
I just wanted to pop in and say I totally missed Hugs now’s comment about the poo not stinking – which made me laugh out loud when I got it. Duh. Oh, and that I agree with you about the coverup spray. When I was a kid I stayed at this place that had this weird strawberry scented bathroom spray, and now whenever I smell that artificial candy strawberry smell it makes me gag because it automatically calls to mind the odor of feces. Blecch.
So we still have ‘death,’ ‘mind,’ and now ‘dream’ to work with. Unfortunately, ‘a monkey’ has been ruled out.
I would also like to point out that Blue’s devious and cunning ways have effectively gained you guys a free question in every subsequent game. YLT (Yogurt Lingo – heh) and I can now never pick ‘a monkey’ as the ‘it’ because we know he’d get it right away. So no one ever has to ask Is it a monkey? Because you already know the answer is no.
This is leaving myself open to all sorts of things, but how do people feel about sex? As an answer that is.
CJ
OK, it’s not a material object and it can’t be sensed by the five senses. It’s a thoughtful hmmm when considering if it’s a bodily function, it requires no physical effort but it’s not an emotion or a charactor trait. Everyone can be said to ‘have’ it, therefore they encounter it daily.
It’s not a soul, snot, breathing, thought, growth, a soul, any of the five senses, it has nothing to do with sex or Coldfire and an inflatable sheep.
That covers the offical 19 questions gone so far.
It’s also not a monkey.
People are thinking ‘death’, ‘mind’ and ‘dream’. With ‘mind’ being discouraged from the answers above but I’ll avoid plunging into the whole mind/body duality thing.
cjhoworth I’m afraid we’ve already discounted sex, and I’ll leave someone else to provide the sillier answer to your post.
‘Dream’ seems to fit all of the answers and there are many threads about dreams around here.
Therefore this post is completely pointless and serves just to agree with everyone else.
Everyone else: I agree.
Since I’ve only just jumped into this game I’ll let someone else pull the trigger and ask the question.
