Laika, while that looks like a whole bunch of little questions rolled up into one, I’ll go easy on you since you’re getting down to the line. While the answer is yes (I think), the thing you’re probably getting at is ‘does it require electricity?’ Hint 1: I advise you to not think that it does.
And since I’m such a nice guy, I’ll throw in…
Hint 2: It was mentioned in at least one of the earlier games, but I won’t say which one(s).
So, so far the thing is a nonliving, man-made, non-specific object not larger than a car, which does not require energy to work. Some people own it, and some encounter it daily, but not really. While being used, it is normally found in people’s homes. It has been around for a while, and it’s purpose is neither decorative nor harmful. It has not been used to further mankind much, if at all. It needs some other thing to do what it does. It probably does not require electricity.
And it’s not a monkey.

This is not a question (well, I suppose it is, but it’s not a question in terms of asking a question in the game), but does the 20th question have to be the answer (ie. Is is a computer???) or is the 20th question a valid question and then the 21st thing a statement on what it is ??? Remember, this is not a question. Well, that last bit was a statement, so it’s not a question, but i’m rambling now …
Sorry to say I’m as lost as you are. Seems like a circular kind of a question to me – I can’t imagine how anything could have a job that was unrelated to its use. I mean, isn’t that what a job is?
My take on this is… looking at the way the question is phrased, the answer should just be no. Actually, this is better. Since, as YLT said, it’s getting close, we can be lenient here. I’m gonna go ahead and say

17B) Do you add something to it to make it useful? No.

Hmmm, I think I’m more confused than ever. Since we don’t have an answer to 18), which is a very good question, I’m not going to post a question. But I’ll share some thoughts 'cos I’m probably going to miss the answer …
I was actually thinking that you might add water, rather than electricity. But looking at it again I don’t think that’s right. And since WL said you don’t add anything that’s the wrong track.
I’ve read the threads that are still around and am completely lost. I didn’t see anything plausible, but maybe I’m being stupid. I did think it might be a five year old child but we’ve established it’s non-living.
Caught@Work as I understand it we have 20 questions, since a guess counts as a question you’d have to take a guess as your 20th question if you hadn’t got it by that point.
I’m off be confused some more.
I was going to guess electricity (as mentioned in version 4.0), but then the answer to question 14 would presumably be “yes”, 16 would be “yes” (there are jobs related to its production), and 10 would be “not usually” rather than “no”.
So I’m stuck. Maybe I need another recap.
