Why the hell don’t they put how much extra time there will be on the screen? I wasn’t paying attention when they announced it, assuming they did, but it’s kind of odd watching a game w/o knowing when it’s going to end. ---

Ghana!! One of the great things about the World Cup is the platform it gives for obscure countries to shine. Cameroon did it 20 years ago and Ghana has done it today. ---

But I’m glad at least, if some cheating diving steroid-stuffed bastards had to beat us, they were African cheating diving steroid-stuffed bastards. Congrats, Ghana and enjoy yourselves this week, Africa. BTW, if you’re in Burbank or Sixth Avenue in NYC, watch out for jumping TV execs. As much as I don’t like the general American attitude to football, I know that the USA team must love the game. They have played well over the last 2 weeks and I am truly sad to see them lose… ---

To some, maybe, but I think a lot of people still questioned his ability, especially because he wouldn’t/couldn’t (depending on who you ask) stick in Europe after '02. It really wasn’t until his stint at Everton earlier this year that I think the rest of the world was willing to acknowledge that he’s actually very good. ---

Sadly he’s pretty much done now, as I’m guessing soccer isn’t an old man’s game. He’s 28 now, so next World Cup he’d be 32. That’s old for soccer, yes?
