Ahhh, that would be glorious.
The difference between Brazil and Argentina is that when Argentina loses, the entire world will start to cheer and throw papers out of windows.
why?
Striped shirts make people angry.
Indeed - how about that for the final.
We can play with the blue shirt, we wouldnt want to anger someone…, we are very humb…, very hum…
Arrh I can’t do it :).
Anyway I think 5 World Cups are enough, that’s why we are happy, we are 3 WCs down and getting even with them is not going to be easy.
Especially if it was a repeat of the 1930 score… I’d celebrate with a Fray Bentos pie…
Because people in other parts of the world do not like Argentina?
Edit: Or should I say, people in non-Argentina countries do not like Argentina.
Frankly I wouldnt care so much, losing a World Cup final with Uruguay would be something so crazy, and I would be happy for our neighbors.
Why?
Once you accept that football is just a game you’ll be much happier. Trust me

I’m English. I like Argentina… mainly because it’s further from Scotland than we are…
I don’t personally have a dog in the fight. I don’t like Maradona (who does?), but their team is obviously very skilled.
I’m merely reporting second-hand based on my (admittedly anecdotal) experience with other South Americans.

That’s my dream Final ticket there. The way they’ve played in this tournament, it would be an absolute gem of a Final game.
Has there been a single goal scored off a free kick in this tournament? At first I was scoffing at the complaints about the ball, but now I am convinced that the ball is a problem.
Japan scored a few nice ones. Commentator was saying that they’ve been using the ball for a while now and really have a handle on it.
FIFA have admitted that there may be some problems with the ball.

They’ll have a look at fixing it after the WC so that OK then
I do, and neither do I understand why the whole world would cheer if Argentina lost. ![]()
I’m not sure about the whole world, but i’ve gotten the impression from a few friends that Argentina is not so popular within South America.
A friend of mine, who does South American (and especially Brazilian) history for a living, and spends quite a lot of time down there, recently told me this joke that she says is quite common in Brazil:
Q. How does an Argentinian commit suicide?
A. Climbs on top of his ego and jumps.
Argentinians are widely considered arrogant in Latin America, so I presume some may be happy to see us down.
Strangely I see no trace of that feeling in various MB I frequent from other Latin American countries this time around.
As for cheering and all that about brazil, I think it was a bad idea, I’m happy they lost (as any fan of the Red Sox, for example would be happy if the Yankees lose), but cheering and so on seems crass.
