Denver and Miami are fine at tackle, right? So why the trade? I guess there’s a small chance that someone was also trying to trade up to Denver for him, but… I can’t imagine he’s that hot a commodity. ---

12 (12) Chargers - Ryan Mathews, RB, Fresno State Another reach, and another nervous team cutting in line to get him. Mathews is impressive, though. It’ll be fun when McClain meets Mathews in the hole like Willis and Peterson back in 2005. ---

I generally think people massively overstate generalizations like “[postion] from [school] all suck!” based on 1 or 2 guys, but in this case Clausen took over after him and perhaps benefited from the same easy schedule, coaching, etc. ---
