When the inflatable Mounties came out, I thought “wow, really”, but as it continued…what a scream! I’m laughing my butt off, and I did not expect to do that in the closing ceremonies. Awesome! They’re exporting comedy, which frankly, they’ve done a lot of that over the years. Fantastic! And some of the dancing maple leafs were pretty hot. 🙂 ---

And that’s the show. The torch gag at the beginning was brilliant. And then… rather lame, actually. Until The Shat showed up. Funny stuff. I also liked the woman who came up after him, and the montage of Canadian athletes apologising. I appreciated seeing Michael J. Fox and hearing his bit; but the Parkinson’s Disease was evident in his voice. The production numbers were pretty good. The whole Canadian Parody number was hi-larious. 😃 It started out semi-seriously, but it took me a second because I’m more familiar with Stompin’ Tom Connors’s version of _The Maple Leaf Forever_. The concert segment? Liked some, others were so-so, didn’t hate any of them. ---

At the tall ships festival last summer, a band played that and dedicated it to my shipmates. It’s a great song for the right occasion. - of suck. ---
