Those OT rules are bizarre and convoluted. Each team gets a possession… unless the first team scores a TD on the kickoff. Each team gets a possession… unless the first team scores a TD. It’s not first to score wins… unless each team has already scored. How about just playing 15-minute quarters until someone has more points at the end of the quarter? Oh, wait. That’s too confusing. ---

There have been ties in the regular season, and playoff games that have gone past one overtime period. Baseball and basketball both play full overtimes until there is a winner; hockey plays a limited overtime, as does college football (in a different style). They’re all tired. ---
