That’s certainly fair. In any case, who knows how he’ll get on in the Premier League, which is far rougher on its players than either La Liga or Die Bundesliga. But he still looks like a top choice to replace Wenger, when the time arrives for that distinguished career to come to a close.
He’s apparently turned down Chelsea and his better half wants to live in London, so it might be on the cards.
:DWell, let me be the first to say that Leicester got robbed. Poor lads.
We were the better side all match and by a lot. Gives me hope for mid week when we play them for real.
Liverpool v. Arsenal so far has been as exciting as you could possibly hope for. 2-2 at the moment (25’)…
Weird set of games in which all the contenders drew except Leicester and Tottenham (great result for the former). As a United fan, can I just put on record that I’d happily take a dull 1-0 win over an exciting 3-3 draw any day.
Craziest game I’ve seen all year , but Liverpool pulls it off , 5-4. Liverpool choked away a lead around 2 minutes into stoppage time , but then scored a minute later.
You’re not wrong. That game was mad.
Dele Alli’s goal for Spurs today is worth a watch or two
I just signed on to post that. The most remarkable goal I have ever had the privilege of watching in real time.
Too young for Gazza vs Scotland in Euro '96? I think that was better, as he was on the run at the time, otherwise a very similar goal (which I watched in real time, on TV).
In other news, I’m a fan of sticking with managers in general and have been in favour of keeping LVG up to now, but surely now is the time to dump him for Mourinho (if the latter will come). I do think the accusations that he doesn’t care about the team and only took the job for a fat payday before retiring to live in England are an unfair slur on his character, though.
These goals remind me of the Klinsmann goal vs. South Korea in the 1994 World Cup. Probably not as good as either of the above?
That match was played midday in 100 degree heat and high humidity solely so it could be shown in primetime in Europe. They were lucky no player died.
Leicester City 50 +18
Manchester City 47 +23
Tottenham Hotspur 45 +25
Arsenal 45 +15
Time to pour some beers and cue up “Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur”!
Gooners can console themselves by looking at the FA Cup draw…looks like the winner of Liverpool-Wet Spam will be their toughest potential opponent until the final. Spurs will probably have to beat both sides of Manchester to reach the final. Oh well, it will make victory all the more glorious!!
Call me flabbergasted at Leicester
Don’t tell anyone, but over the last 20 games Tottenham have been the best team in the league. More points taken, more goals scored, fewest goals conceded. Everyone is distracted by Leicester so they aren’t paying too much attention to Delli Alli, and Dier turning into superstars. Harry Kane being amazing (again), Christian Erikson creating more scoring chances than any of player in the BPL, and the whole team being the best defense in the UK.
I still think Arsenal are going to win the league, but I think 3 place is ours to lose and we have a fighting shot to take this to the end, and a cup is not a laughable dream anymore.
My lord, that goal by Vardy was brilliant! What a season he’s having!
Obviously I would love it if you were right, but right now I’m not feeling a tremendous amount of confidence in this. It depends on how quickly we get out of the present slump. Seeing as we have a number of critical players coming back from injury, it’s not without possibility. But, if Arsenal are able to win the trophy, it will be a very difficult slog all the way to the last game, I expect.
Vardy’s OK, but could he do it on a balmy Tuesday night in Bilbao?
I’m a Liverpool fan, but all i could do when he scored that goal was clap, with my mouth open. Absolute stunner.
Much as i love to see Liverpool win, i actually don’t feel too bad about yesterday’s result. Of all the teams with a realistic shot at the title, i would really love Leicester to go all the way. If that three points means that the Foxes are on top of the table on May 15, i will consider the Liverpool loss to be in a worthy cause.
Would really love to see Leicester get a win over Man City on Saturday.
