I get that and enjoyed it too. But at least 15/20 PL clubs ought to be asking themselves how they allowed it to happen. Why weren’t they good enough? Why didn’t their coaching staffs sense their vulnerabilities? Why didn’t their scouts recognize the quality in the Leicester squad?
This is a shocking development in a multi billion pound business.
I’ll be up at Wembley on Sunday to watch Halifax Town. I remember Geoff Horsfield scoring The Greatest Ever Free Kick Ever Seen Ever back in 1998 in the first game of the season at Hayes. (It wasn’t televised, so you’ll have to take my word for it) Even got a lift on the team coach up to Toddington.
Spurs and Halifax Town… It’s a long rather uninteresting story.
Look Knorf, you’ve finished above us, stop rubbing it in. Even the Hammers fans down my local are giving me grief, never mind the Gooners.
Give it a rest…
Some lousy defending and some very lousy officiating cost Liverpool the match. I have never seen a team being robbed and deserving to lose at the same time.
Well, Van Gaal is definitely out (according to BBC website as of 15 minutes ago), Mourinho still TBC but from Saturday evening they had been talking about “sack LVG Monday, announce TS1* Tuesday”, so we’re still on schedule :).
I’m quite excited, especially if TS1 has learned a bit more humility. It seemed he was heading that way during his second Chelsea stint (compared with his first one), I used to find him absolutely infuriating and indeed said at one point that I wouldn’t want him in charge of ‘my’ team. But I think he has mellowed and matured a bit now. At least I hope so.
*“The Special One” - wonder if it will catch on, given the ongoing trend for TLAs - though I suppose it should be “TSO” to be a TLA.
That’s… a low release clause. Though it appears Leicester aren’t going down without a fight as they likely will offer Vardy a new contract to keep him there.
