# 2016 Non-Presidential elections

[Kansas had its Republican primary yesterday for Congressional and state legislature positions, and conservative lost a lot of seats to more moderate Republicans](http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/8/2/1556083/-Kansas-Primary-Election-Sends-Brownback-Supporters-Down-In-Flames?detail=facebook). Even incumbent Congressman Tim Huelskamp was defeated by a Republican moderate.

The big question is, will conservatives sit out the general election, giving the Democrats a chance to take some currently Republican seats? And how will this effect Trump in the state?
