2021 SDMB Celebrity Death Pool

Are there a higher percentage of politicians on the lists this year or is it just me?

They don’t know when to quit. Office holding is a drug - staffers, lobbyists, favorite pundits fawning over your every word and miasmatic emission. Inhofe, Feinstein, McConnell, Sanders, Trump, Biden, Carter (he’s just old).

So they’re old and many are repulsive to the more liberal leaning members of the board.

Well, it is an election year! :slightly_smiling_face:

Because most of the Republican politicians are a little light on the mask wearing. That’s why I picked them.

Reprising my list of entertainers over 90 years old. I helped keep all but four of last year’s aged picks alive for another full year. In 2020 we lost two of my over-100 picks (Olivia de Havilland and Kirk Douglas) and Carl Reiner and James Lipton gave me a few points, but I’m hoping for a low score again this year to avoid losing any more of these great talents.

As always, I’m playing the odds, not going for points. The maximum I could earn, if all of these wonderful actors dropped dead in early January, is 57. The first two are over 100: Norman Lloyd just turned 106 in November and Marsha Hunt turned 103 on my birthday back in October! Betty White will turn 99 on January 17. The youngest, alternate Ed Asner, is a sprightly 91.

They’re listed in descending age.

Norman Lloyd
Marsha Hunt
Betty White
Eva Marie Saint
Cicely Tyson
June Lockhart
Angela Lansbury
Dick van Dyke
Mel Brooks
Cloris Leachman
Tony Bennett
