Gail Halvorsen, a pilot in the Berlin airlift known as “The Candy Bomber” has died at 101. > **[Gail Halvorsen](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gail_Halvorsen)** > > Pages for logged out editors learn more > > > > Colonel Gail Seymour "The Candy Bomber" Halvorsen (October 10, 1920 – February 16, 2022) was a senior officer and command pilot in the United States Air Force. He earned his private pilot's license in 1941 and then... No points, but a unique pick for me. ---
