I did see the Scorpions in Portland OR in the early 80s. They followed Iron Maiden. It was a darn fine show. ---

I had an old college roommate named Bill Hayes. We used to call him, “Villiam Hies,” like from _Midnight Express._ Kid couldn’t hold his liquor for shit but he was a nice guy. I think he’s forest ranger now. Anyway, RIP, other Bill Hayes. ---
