Oh, this one hurts. I have had the honor of performing for Sir Andrew Davis on many, many occasions as a chorister, including on stage and on recordings, as well as having a few passing conversations and handshakes with him. He was a man of immense talent and unrelenting good nature, one of the great conductors of the era and much beloved by his orchestras. And I know a lot of people who will be deeply saddened by the news of his passing. Rest in peace, Sir Andrew. Michael Pinder, keyboardist for the 2nd incarnation of the Moody Blues, has apparently moved on as of today, age 81. Only note I can find on it is a Facebook page, which however gives me an error (maybe because I am not a member of Fb). ---
