I expect she would respond by posting, not be writing to me, although I did send my snail address in case she’s in some kind of no-power situation. I will tell you from personal experience that if you are admitted to a hospital through emergency, and do not have a phone or laptop with you-- or do have one, but not a charger, you are going Amish unless you can get a friend to go to your place and pick up your stuff for you. Know the as the person who just HAPPENED to enter an ER with a laptop and charger with me, but had to get DH to eventually bring my phone, which I could not access on my laptop without a code texted to _ **the phone** _! and also as the person who went to the hospital to retrieve keys from a friend who lives alone, and go to her place to get her dog and take it to daycare/boarding, feed her cat (I also changed the litterbox), and gather up some of her things, including phone charger. Hospitals do not lend you shit. And I get not having Chromebooks to lend out, but how hard would chargers be? ---

Every time I go to the hotel reception and say that last time I was there I forgot my charger they fetch a big cardboard box from under the counter full with chargers they have collected during the last years and they ask “which one is yours?”. So, my pro tip would be: Don’t ask “do you happen to have a charger you could lend me?”, ask instead “did you find my charger? I am afraid I left it in my room the last time.” ---
