It’s a very convenient narrative for the Feds to say that BORTAC waited 30 minutes only because they were respecting the instructions of local officers, and then they heroically decided to defy those instructions and go in. All we _actually_ know is that BORTAC made a decision to wait 30 minutes. And with far better training than the locals, unless there are established protocols that they MUST defer to local law enforcement on tactics, I think perhaps they need to own that decision to wait rather than adopt a “just following orders for 30 minutes until heroically defying orders” defense. ---

Totally understand your reaction. But – much as I armchair quarterback the LE response to the shooting – I’m not sure how eager I would be to take a hard position in something like this if I had as much to lo$e as McConaughey probably does (rather than the roughly $0.00 that I stand to lose as an opinionated keyboard warrior). ---
