# 2D to 3D Blu-Ray converter

OK, for true 3D Blu-Rays you need a 3D TV.

But what about players that have a 2D to 3D converter (like [this](http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMP-BDT210-Integrated-Wi-Fi-Blu-ray-Player/dp/B004G8HXXO/ref=sr_1_1?s=tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1328508950&sr=1-1) for example)? If you convert a 2D DVD or Blu-Ray to 3D can you watch it as 3D on a 2D TV?

No. Your television needs to be able to display the 3D information. It can either do this or it cannot.

Or to be more clear, you still need the ability to split the left and right viewpoints into your left and right eyes. It is that process (via glasses or seriously weird optics) that comes with the TV.
