I liked both Chevy commercials. “Tell me when it’s over…” The GM ad seemed dark, even for a dream sequence. “GM, where our goals create such a stressful environment even our robots want to kill themselves.” ---

It’s not like GM is going to stop making automobiles if they are so well-made- people who learn to drive are going to get new cars. Stupid robot. ---

I’ve seen several Coca-Cola commercials (The GTA thing, old guy and the Black History Month one) but none appeared to be first-one ads, and that’s what I want to see. (Plus what’s the point of spending all that money on an existing ad?) ---

The Coca-Cola Black History Month was a first-run ad, I’m sure, as it makes an indirect reference to tonight’s game. The “bubble team” ad was not for the NBA, but CBS coverage of NCAA’s March Madness. A “bubble team” is, I believe, a team which is “on the bubble”- it may or may not make it into the playoffs. Hey, look, he’s singing inside of his name! ---

So far I am not at all impressed. The godaddy one had some eye-candy and that was probably the only one that I remember. It is a sad year for commercials. ---

I’ve seen a lot of sucky halftime shows but this is right up there. The last one I actually liked was Paul McCartney. ---

Purple One: Prince. cf the movie : Purple Rain. The opening number was kinda weak, but it picked up. He lost it (and perhaps my respect) by perverting the lyrics to “All along the watchtower” by putting his name in and a not-so-sly reference to his involvement with the JWs, but then singing “Purple Rain” in the rain was a cool end. ---

Apparently, this is CBS. Thanks. I would have forgotten were it not for all those commercials. That second Carlos Mencia Bud Light spot was a little better than the first, but not great. ---

I loved the shot of the Chicago player catching the rain with his tongue. Coca-Cola: Apparently, Rube Goldberg builds vending machines. Coolest spot of the night so far. Based on the way the game is going tonight, the Benny Hill-inspired _Late Late Show_ spot is only fitting. ---

So this ad is telling us that Coke is made by bugs and that the reason it takes so long for your drink to come out of the machine is that they have this elaborate routine they must go through before they can spit it out, rather than using pre-filled bottles. ---
