I found a thread which I was sure I commented on only to find out my comment was not there. Once again it happened in this thread [http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=879923](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=879923) Where I reposted the essentials. Any explanation would be appreciated. ---

We did have a major outage today and it’s entirely possible that some or all posts within that time when the board began to shi–I mean when things began to go wrong – it’s entirely possible some posts were lost when the system failed. We apologize, it’s a rare thing but occasionally it does happen. Jenny your humble TubaDiva Administrator ---

If I recall there was once a thread started by Qadgop the Mercotan entitled “Gollum is my patient” but we lost that one…\* \>sniff\<\*. I miss that thread. We have lost some good threads over the years. Darn hamsters! Keep passing out on the job! ---
