“A man reportedly tried to stop the attacker but was struck with a blunt object and later died in hospital.” Wow — if confirmed, rather like the Bondi Beach hero (who survived). In Taipei, the attacker did go on to attack others after this attempt (as occurred with the Bondi incident, too, though it’s likely lives were saved in that case). ---
