# 3-wheeled Volkswagen concept vehicle?

IIRC, back in the 80’s, Volkswagen developed a three-wheeled enclosed vehicle. NOT the “trykes” which were motorcycle-styled vehicles using the rear half of a Beetle. This thing had a drive wheel in the rear and two control wheels in the front. It also had a “bubble” type top that hinged to allow two people to ride in single file. It had such creature comforts as AC, stereo, etc. I have been unable to properly Google this.

Does anyone else remember this?

You’re not thinking about the [Messerschmidt Kabinenroler](http://www.maxmatic.com/threes/images/mekr200.jpg), are you? That one’s from the 50’s, and was actually produced.

Let’s google some more…

The vehicle looks the most like the Carver except it’s more enclosed. No exposed wheels and it didn’t have conventional doors. Of course, I’m trying to remember all this from 15+ years ago!
