When I was a kid, we were so poor we _didn’t have_ lint. The neighbor kids used to taunt me, waving their wads of lint in my face. ---

Mercy.” [/QUOTE] Ignorant buffoon! it is “la trampa de los lintos” I don’t get the OP’s beef. He says it himself, you clean the lint trap BEFORE you put your load in. He has to do it anyways. Having a thick mat makes it a lot easier to pick it out. Also a lot of fun counting the different coloured layers. Not to mention terribly sexy with all that pubic hair. It is like having an orgy every laundry day. I am afraid his racism will need to find a different avenue. ---

This has already been mentioned upthread, but for crying out loud, it’s LINT. It takes all of two seconds to remove. If it squicks you out, wash your hands afterwards. Not a big deal. ---

[/QUOTE] Other options: 1. use drop-off laundry service 2. buy a drying rack and line dry (I’m sure some of your immigrant neighbors are doing just that) 3. move someplace with an in-unit washer and dryer. ---

Maybe we need a general thread for ranting about apartment house neighbors specifically. My fellow tenants are slobs, plain and simple. Some leave trash in bags or cartons in the hallway, apparently under the impression that it’s someone’s job to carry it to the chutes. And regarding the trash rooms, where the chutes are, many people just through their bags into the room without bothering to actually throw it down the chute. And they don’t just do this with dry trash, but with actual garbage. I have found plates full of food in the trash room, and once an untouched green bean casserole in a disposable baking pan. ---

All the birds in my neighborhood are wrapped up snugly in soft cushy nests lined with Malemute fur. Actually, to cope with the available supply we could use about fifty kajillion more birds that build nests twice a year. Where can we find such critters, anyway?
