30 Rock 9 Jan '09 (open spoilers)

There’s a new episode tonight. Selma Hayek and the little person from Nip/Tuck are guest starring.

Peter Dinklage is an excellent actor. Didn’t see him in Nip/Tuck, but was great in The Station Agent

I wanna see a Blaffair to Rememblack.

It seemed that when Tracy answered Jack’s phone, he put on a “white” voice, but it wasn’t over the top like you’d expect from him. Which made it way funnier.

(Or did I just imagine that?)

YES!

I think I fell in love wtih Salma too (but not until the scene in the park. Hummina hummina hummina.)

(date in thread title is wrong- Thursday was the 8th).

Maybe this belongs in the mini-rants thread, or MPSIMS, but it is related to this episode…

During the transition from The Office to 30 Rock, the announcer intoned in a peppy voice (paraphrased): “Quick–what’s 10 Rock times 3 Rock? Answer: 30 Rock! Up next.”

No, you idiot! You multiply the units, too! “10 Rock” times “3 Rock” is 30 Rock[sup]2[/sup], dammit!

P.S. If they wanted to do something stupid like this, they should asked what the sum of “10 Rock” and “20 Rock” was, for instance. Or multiplied “10 Rock” by 3.

P.P.S. No, I don’t know why this infuriated me so. It’s probably the former chemistry teacher in me–doesn’t anyone know how to do dimensional analysis?

I hate that announcer, or at least the crap they write for him.

I missed part of this episode because of cleanup from a kitchen accident. Will have to watch online. I love Peter Dinklage.

Peter Dinklage was way cool in this episode. I wonder if we’ll see more of him?

Probably not. Liz is such a doof

I hate that guy.

That was totally his Jack impression.

I was a bit disappointed with the ho-hum role written for Hayek, but, as always, Liz Lemon provided enough funny for everyone. I think we all knew what was going to happen at the end, but dammit it still had me roaring.

I was going to post “Wasn’t his name Stuart something in this episode?” until a trip to imdb indicated that’s his real name. Sounds much more like what they’d make up for him in this episode. I liked his UN job though - High Commission on Water Temperature and Food Taint.

I love Peter Dinklage and I have a story about him too (which I have probably told before). Years back, I was walking a mall in Toronto with my sister and we saw a little person (is that PC? I don’t know) walking toward us and I was staring at him. My sister said, “Dan, it’s rude to stare” and I replied with, “No, you don’t understand, I’m staring because it’s Peter Dinklage.” I just think it’d make for a pretty funny throwaway sitcom moment. So if you ever see it in an episode, check the credits.

The episode as a whole was pretty good. I especially loved how Salma Hayek was rooting around in Jack’s pants for a good minute and her expert opinion was ‘you should see someone about it’. Good stuff.

I just watched Season 1 & 2 over Netflix via Xbox360, and you know what?? I freakin love Tracy Morgan in this show. Which is strange 'cause I didn’t like him when I saw the seasons first time on TV, but seeing it again I have to say he is a very funny man.

Loved last night show, good second half start! Of course having Selma show clevage is a great start to any show!!

Does anyone else have “Take another little chunk of my lung” in their head? I love Janet Jopler!

That* is *funny. Everybody thinks you’re staring because the person looks unusual, and you’re staring because he’s a freaking movie star.

I’m not sure what this says about me, but I had no idea it was Selma Hayek until I saw that scene…

Hilarious episode. Everything Dinklage said was hysterical.

“Shut it down!”

I have a science crush on you.

She’s always done it for me, she’s smokin’ hot.

I thought it was a good episode. One of the better ones this season.

“There’s something on my ball.”

“Mint?”
