I’ll take the $300. Closest I’ve been to Detroit is Dearborn to visit the Ford Museum, but I think it’s outside the city limits. ---

There’s honestly nothing I really want to do in Detroit proper, so I’d take the $300. If you name a few things that would be worth a $300 opportunity cost that would be packaged in the deal, then we could talk. ETA: For what it’s worth, I would probably say the same thing about Vegas. Just doesn’t appeal to me. ---

It doesn’t quite come with everything. If it included a license to carry a concealed weapon, a Glock and a few hundred rounds, you could count me in. Otherwise, I live to spend the $ 300.00 ---

I’ll take the week in the city with the caveat that I get to choose the time of year. I’m thinking sometime in late spring/early summer when the Tigers are in town. Catch a few games, see what else strikes my fancy in the city in the way of restaurants & music, stay in a nice hotel, etc. It’s not a week in Tahiti, but not a bad week in my book. ---

Michigan is a shall-issue state. Wayne County (which contains Detroit) is sometimes slow to issue, but your legal CCW is still legal there, too. Of course if you’re there as a tourist, you’re not going to go into the crack ghetto anyway, and you’d very likely be safe without the weapon. Partially that’s because Michigan is a shall-issue state, and partially because the touristy areas just aren’t all that dangerous. ---
