That had to be one of the coolest movies I have ever seen. I had to keep myself from giggling like a little schoolgirl when he said, “Then we’ll just have to fight in the shade.” And it was absolutly gorgeous to watch. If you have a weak stomach I’d suggest against it. A lot of blood and gore (Which reminds me, who the hell brings kids to a movie like that? I mean honestly, have some common sense people). So yeah, I’m a dork. ---

I’m glad to hear that so many people like it. It’s gotten pretty good reviews as well so far. I’m going to see it sometime this week, I think. I believe it’s playing a limited engagement in NY before it goes wide on Friday. ---

I won movie tickets in a poker tourney, and the ONLY movie I can think of to use them on is _300_/ Curse you. Curse you hard. ---

Not only were they the greatest warriors in history, not only did they save a nascent Greek culture from being nipped in the bud, _they invented the action movie one-liner_. There is a direct leading from “We will fight in the shade\*” to “Yippee-ka-yay, motherfucker!”, and just for that, Western culture owes them a profound debt. _An actual ancient historical quote_\*, as I’m sure you know. \*\* Which means it was probably invented by an actual ancient historian. ---

My only real concern with the movie\*: does King Lionidas do anything besides yell really loudly? (If so, they should have gotten Al Pacino…) \*: I’m trained in scriptwriting and movie-maiking in general, so things tend to be difficult for me to enjoy if not done really well. ---

Can someone tell me why the trailers look so… strange to me? I admit I haven’t done much research into the film, but it appears almost like an entirely-CGI/animated movie. ---

[/QUOTE] It was shot entirely on green screen, just like _Sin City_, and like _Sin City_ its style is based on a Frank Miller comic book. ---

**bobkitty** , it’s not entirely CGI, but the actors were filmed in front of a green or blue screen, so all the sets, backgrounds etc are CGI. It’s only _mostly_ CGI. I’m very much looking forward to this one. ---

I can’t wait to see this. I gobbled up the comic books back when they were first published and I loved the artwork as well as the story. From the trailers, it looks like the movie preserves them both. ---
