4 days in Boston. What should we do?

As an anti-Bostonian, I suggest visit NYC.

There’s an Italian/Peruvian fusion restaurant in the North End called Taranta.

The meal I had there three years ago is one of the handful in my life that I’ll remember forever.

Check it out if you feel like it

The Museum of Fine Arts is one of my favorites. I’ve never been, but I’ve heard to Gardener museum is nifty as well. The Harvard art museum is free on Saturday mornings, or at least it was the last time I was there. It’s nice, as well.

Quincy market is a must. Touristy, yes, but I still enjoy it and I’ve lived here all my life.

If you don’t have it already, I would recommend a map with a subway overlay on it, as those come in handy in a city you aren’t familiar with.

Hopstop is a great tool for figuring out which subway stops get you where. I work in Boston, and I use it all the time.

I second the Duck Tour idea, it’s a fantastic way to get a feel for the whole city, and get ideas for what you may want to go back to see. The Fenway Park tour is great as well, even if you aren’t a big baseball fan.

brewha – If you’re going to use the T, and particularly if you’re going to use the Blue Line from the airport, it would be worth your time to learn about the fare vending machines before you leave. The T no longer accepts token. At the Airport Station, I would imagine you’d see a crowd of visitors standing around the vending machines trying to figure out how they work, with one T employee assisting them. While you could read the instructions here, buy your transit ticket quickly and catch the first train.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I’m leaving for Boston in about an hour and have printed out this thread for refrence.

I’ll try to post a trip summary with pictures when I get back.
