Turns out that when I don’t bother to check the city, there are a few that look a lot like my favourite used record store. But now that I’ve recovered from several small heart attacks, I can get on with my life.
Similarly I’ve never seen Caroline Records open. A quick googling suggests it was still around in the '90s though.
Peaches Records And Tapes in Atlanta (or based there)
Also “Turtles”.
And “Ernie’s Record Shop” in Memphis, TN, made famous by the great John R on WLAC!
Lord, I used to fine tune my transistor and that one ear earphone to bring in those GREAT early R&B songs!
I have 2 cd’s of those shows, and just LOVE listening to the intro: “Hey John R, whatcha gonna do? Come on John R man, and play me some rhythm and blues!”
God love Little Richard and “Royal Crown”!
Where I got most of my drummin’ chops, and I’ll never forget that middle of the night show!

It’s “Ernie’s Record Shop”, and “Randy’s Record Mart”!
Sorry, R&B purists!

PS: Buckley’s was in there too! I used to LOVE “Moms Mabley”!!!
I’ve been to at least three of the stores pictured. Sad indeed.
I’m glad you no longer believe this.
