[Lucy the Welsh tabby](http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Life-begins-40-oldest-cat-world/story-14259050-detail/story.html) may just have turned 40, a first for a domestic fuzzbutt. She had a measure of fame last year when she (may have!) [turned 39](http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1344271/Can-Lucy-39-really-oldest-cat-world.html), which, if verified, would have made her the longest-lived kitty ever. ---

“The Americans want to come over here and film her. . .” I just love this. It’s as if it were a congressional mandate or something. He could have gotten a call from Stephen Speilberg or the editor of the East BuFu, Idaho high school newspaper. ---

I’m not really doubting it because they seem to have researched it, but really? An elderly aunt can look at a cat and say definitively, “that’s the kitten I saw in 1972.” ---

Why I have a black cat and once in 1980 I saw a black kitten. OMG my cat is 32 years old.
