47 cats were rescued from a car in sweltering 90-degree Minnesota heat on Tuesday. Their owner had recently become homeless and didn’t want to leave the cats behind. > **[47 cats living in car rescued from 90F Minnesotan heat](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10921133/47-cats-living-car-rescued-hot-weather-Minnesota.html)** > > The cats discovered Tuesday were living in the car with their owner who recently became homeless and didn't want to leave the animals behind, according to Animal Humane Society. 1. If you’re about to become homeless, suck it up and surrender the cats to a shelter so they’ll have a chance at a better life. 2. If you’re wondering why you’ve become homeless, consider the possibility that one person cannot possibly afford to take care of 47 cats. He’d actually already given 14 of them away! This guy is the ultimate Crazy Cat Person. In every negative aspect of the word. ---

I heard about that. He promptly named the first cat “Scout”, because that was his function. ---

Hoarding is a mental illness and is very sad for the sufferer as well as those they impact. The saddest stories are always about animal hoarders, those poor people can’t take care of themselves but still feel compelled to take in more animals than they can care for. The state of mental health care in this country is appalling, people fall through the cracks all the time and nothing is done until it’s too late. ---

I can’t imagine the smell in that car.
