What no White Sox? 1. Bobby Jenks will lose weight or throw fireballs or both. 2. The team has improved up and down over last year. Both hitting and pitching. 3. Jim Thome. 4. AL Central is weak (and, yes, I have also accounted for that weak sauce team Cleveland). 5. They already did it. ---

Yet 5 more reasons why the Mets will win it. 1. Billy Wagner will do the impossible: make Mets fans forget Braden Looper and Armando Benitez. 2. To improve the hitting at 2B the Mets will resign Rey Ordonez. 3. Carlos Beltran will remember to leave his wallet in the clubhouse during games so he can hit and run like we know he can. 4. Finally, finally, finally, a Mets prospect might just make it. David Wright is for real. 5. Who else is going to come out of the NL, the Cubs? ---

1. Eric Chavez won’t have the brutal first half he had last year. 2. Full seasons from Bobby Crosby, Mark Ellis, and Rich Harden. 3. Jason Kendall can’t be as godawful as he was in 2005. 4. There’s a solid core of emerging youngsters (Street, Johnson, Swisher, Haren, and Blanton) that should at least repeat their 2005 performances. 5.
