The first one on the list that I’ve tried is the Cave Creek Chili Beer. Good God, did that suck!

It scares me to think that there are 13 beers that are worse.

I _liked_ Bud Dry. Then again, I’ve had way too many of the beers on that list. They should have a price index, I bet it’s telling.

I am ashamed to say, I have dramk 13 of them. I have mended my ways. A trip to Germany helped me see the light about sucky beers.
However I want to know , why no Keystone? I don’t know anyone who can drink it and it doesn’t go through them like a bullet train. There are much worse than what is listed, but they are probably not big enough sellers for the list.

I am so disappointed that neither _Grain Belt_ or _Wisconsin Ace_, those low price standards for the impecunious mid 1960s college student, did not make the list. Maybe they were so bad they went out of business. As I recall _Grain Belt_ came only in quart bottles – which give you a hint of its target market.

That’s kind of a lame list though… probably 1/2 of them are the alcohol-free versions of normal beer. Of course they’re going to taste terrible!

I see Old Style isn’t on the list. 51.
Personally, I prefer Stella Artois and Murphy’s Red (formerly Amber) for a good solid beer.

Harp when mixed with Guiness (can’t stomach the sludge otherwise)

and Good Ol’ MGD if I’m lookin for a snootful.

</div>

Oh, gods! I’m agreeing with Reeder again! I like a cold Busch sometimes…something about the corn flavor that just calls to me once and awhile. But I gotta agree with **bump** , low-alcohol versions shouldn’t be on the list. I’m kinda surprised thet Silver Bullets aren’t on the list…but they are my first choice for hot day/cold beer.

I do like the “good” beer reviews on that site. The descriptive creativity gives oenophiles a run for their money.

> [@](#):
>
> Inveralmond Ossians Ale 3.6 BBB63
>
> Bottle (Ossian Ale): Clear medium amber hue with lasting frothy white head and good lace. The aroma has notes of pine, apple, orange zest, pale malts, and earthy yeast esters. The taste has a surprisingly mild bitterness with a citric twang background. Some malt and flowery undertones. The finish has a sublime smoky nature and a hint of spice with the lungering smooth bitters. The feel is lively and crisp but much too thin. This beer is really a summer refresher with the lighter body and crisp piney nature. Sum is better than the parts.

> [@](#):
>
> Bürgerbräu Wolnzacher Roggenbier 3.6 muzzlehatch
>
> 500 ml bottle shared with Tidiaguy. Incredibly gunky-looking stew-thick light caramel color…cool. Lemon-rye aroma is extraordinarily aromatic and food-like. Very spicy, zesty, sour and highly carbonated, with an odd and rather unappetizing sweetness running throughout, similar to rice syrup. This was very, very interesting, and I’d certainly recommend to the adventurous, but the bottle probably needs to be fresher, and it’s certainly not going to be everyone’s cup of mud.

> Kapuziner Weissbier 3.6 BBB63
>
> Bottle: Hazy pale yellow with lasting frothy white head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of bready and biscuity yeast esters, banana, clove, lemongrass and bubblegum. The taste starts with a twangy citric and moderately banana tone. Lots of clove and floral hops on the finish. Lingering tart and spice. A noticeable sweetness is detected and does take away from some of the refreshing qualities of the style. The feel is fizzy and chalky on the finish. Better than expected but still short of the best of genre. Worthy of a try

Wow…Busch Lite is the 47th worst, while Busch is #36? I’ve only had Busch Lite once or twice, and it triggered the gag reflex in me. I shudder to think what Busch must taste like then.

But, no, the absolute worst beer I’ve tasted was this novelty beer (at least I hope it was a novelty beer) I had in Russia. Some mad brewer decided to butress beer’s hoppy and malty flavors with almonds (okay, not a terrible idea) and … basil. Yes. Basil. Almond and basil beer. Why anyone thought it would be a good to mix the great tastes of pesto and lager together, I will never know.

Rhinelander
Hamms
Pabst Blue Ribbon
Red White & Blue
Lone Star
Special Export

As for Grain Belt, I’ve had that in 12 oz bottles, cans, & on tap. There was even a Grain Belt Premium.

I can’t wait till the next time I see my Bud Light-drinking friend (we always tell him we’ll provide beer if he comes over, but if he wants Bud Light, he’ll have to bring his own) - now I can tell him he drinks the 40th worst beer in the world!

Premium? Really? What did they do, have a healthy horse piss in it?

I get all nostalgic thinking about all the dead and gone cheap beers from my salad days. Next thing you will tell me that Heubner’s is defunct.

BBK, the local beer from Kaiserslautern is not on the German list, but the list looks like it is primarily hoitie-toitie small batch breweries not the huge local factories that turn out thousands of gallons a day and are favorites in the town and village gasthaus(s) and bier stubes. You can tell what beer is popular and cheap by looking in the day laborers’ lunch satchels.

Huh.

I’m disappointed by the neglect of some of Canada’s crappy beers.

_Kokanee_ is one of the worst beers I’ve ever actually swallowed, and I see that they’ve rated it as 2/5. On the other hand, Budweiser is worse and it didn’t make the cut.

There are really fifty beers worse than Molson Canadian?

I’m really saddened by the lack of classic Upstate New York old man beers such as Utica Club, Genesee Cream Ale and Koch’s Golden Anniversary. Things were _not_ better in the good 'ol days, despite what some retired steelworker-type might tell you.

I like Busch, too. As [Slate](http://slate.msn.com/id/33771/device/html30) says, it is the best value-for-taste beer around.

I’ve had Grain Belt Premium once, but never Grain Belt. The Premium tasted like they took MGD and poured three ounces of corn syrup in it. It made Jolly Ranchers seem salty by comparison.
