500 posts. I’ve been pondering this lo these many minutes. Should I say anything? Have a post party? – That’s really not my style, and besides, there’s pretty much passe, which you’d think would mean they _are_ my style, go figure. Dance naked on my desk? – The other programmers wouldn’t appreciate that. Ask everyone to come in here and say nice things to/about me? – I kinda like that idea, but that would invalidate my membership in the ‘90%’ club. How about this: I’ve read a lot of posts lately where someone says: “Nobody reads my posts”, “Everybody ignores me”, “I never get any response”, etc. I feel that way a lot as well. I know that I read a lot of posts that really click with me, or I find funny, but never let the poster know that I liked their post _because_ I don’t feel that I have anything relevant or funny to say to justify my posting. (\* whew \* what a sentence!) I like to imagine that the same holds true for my posts. That people find them funny &/or cogent, but just don’t respond because they don’t want to do a ‘me too’ post. I hope so anyway. But I find that I crave some response. I’ll bet you do too. So here it is: You guys are great! You’re smart and you’re funny and I really like you all! (except for that one guy, you know the one I mean.) If I didn’t enjoy it here, I wouldn’t be here. So there! 😛 Carry on. ---

If I may be so bold, **Bumbazine** - I think you’re great, too. And that was truly unsolicited - there’s no checks in the mail, no promises of chocolates, no threats of reprisals. Well, at least you’re doing something memorable. I wasted my 500th earlier today on a question in ATMB. Perhaps wasted is too strong, misused is a better description. Regardless, congratulations to you, **Bumbazine**. Here’s hoping we’ll meet again at your 1000th. ---

1. Shortly after #500. Stand up. I don’t care where you are, just stand up. 2. Stretch. 3. Fart twice. Once loudly, once silently. 4. Smile. 5. Take a deep breath, then choke on the fumes. 6. Go into the bathroom and masturbate to visions of **TubaDiva** and **Lynn Bodoni** naked while eating tons and tons of chocolate. 7. Emerge 45 minutes later, shaken but not stirred. 8. Straighten your clothes! Zip up your fly! Oh, and pop an Altoid. 9. Sit back at your desk. 10. Bask. Gloat that you have 500 more posts than anyone who hasn’t registered. 11. Repeat steps 1-10 for Post #1,000. ---
