IIRC pioneers & soldiers fighting Indians etc. The were starving to death and one of the travelers brought along the dead Indian skull to nosh on. What was this film? Looked to be 50’s 60’s vintage. ---

I’m like 90% sure it was called _Distant Drums_. I definitely remember the scene. A cowby’s noshing on an Indian’s melon. somebody says something or other and he says “you ain’t hungry enough.” Because that scene stood out to me as a child (I saw it on TV when I was maybe 9 or 10), the title of the movie stood out as well. I’m allowing that my memory could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure it was _Distant Drums_. ---

[Upon further review](http://www.san.beck.org/MM/1940/NorthwestPassage.html), it looks like **NDP** must be right. Either I crossed up my movie titles somewhere along the line or there are two old westerns with guys eating Indian heads.
