5th annual plea to stop smoking

tdn, you won three hours of recovery for your body, and the knowledge that next time you can go three and a half. That’s not a bad prize at this stage.

I smoked for fifteen years and failed to quit uncounted times. I used to say that smoking was the intelligence test I failed twenty times a day even though I knew the answer up front. The thing that finally worked was atropine/scopolamine injections. It wasn’t exactly pleasant, but for me it killed nicotine withdrawal dead…dead…dead. One treatment and I never went back. It’s not available everywhere, but I’ll bet your insurance company (and I hope you have one) knows where you can find it and may een be prepared to pay for it.

In any event, good luck, and be ready for the fact that even after you quit it takes a while to stop feeling lousy. Exercise helps a little. Good luck.
