I got sober, and I’ve been there ever since! 17 years- who would have guessed? Certainly no one who knew me when I was drinking and drugging, that’s for sure.

And since I forgot to post this yesterday on my actual birthday (March 4), I guess it’s really 6,211 days!

Thanks, y’all! How did I do it? By sheer grace, plus a boatload of hard work. I work the most well-known of the 12 step programs, the one that Craig Kilborn reminded everyone is “right at the beginning of the phone book.” 😉
I don’t drink or use, just for today. I also don’t lie, cheat or steal. I am utterly convinced that I am what I am and that there is a way to change how I live. I trust in others, I thoroughly examine myself and my behavior. I admit my faults and then forgive myself for them. I make amends for my bad behavior and try not to repeat it. I work with others to pass on what has been so freely given to me. And although it’s “just for today,” I do NOT reserve the right to drink at some future date- in my experience, people who do that, eventually do it. I am truly done.
I think that’s it in a nutshell. 😃
I used to be a very bad girl. I constantly found myself in dangerous places, with dangerous people, doing dangerous shit. I don’t seem to have that problem anymore… 😉
