(666) is the telephone exchange for Louisville, CO, an upper-middle class community near Boulder. The city’s phone number is 666-6565. I have lived close by for over half my life, and I have never heard a single case of a homeowner or business owner refusing their phone number for religious reasons. I’m sure it has happened, but it doesn’t make the news. I’m so glad I live in a state of grownups. P.S. Out of curiosity, I looked this up. My aunt P. once got nervous because the balance in her checking account was $666.66. My mom’s roommate in the hospital last year claimed that Monster Energy Drinks have the 666 on the can (those slash marks that sort of look like an M apparently correspond to the Hebrew characters for sixes, or something). I just roll my eyes. What else can I do? ---

Except the ancient Hebrews (and Greeks) had no concept of Decimal Places, so 3 sixes in a row would just be 18 anyway… Otherwise, spot on 😃 ---

Probably members here should avoid making the 666th post in any thread. Your user name would then be forever linked to the evil number. And while it is impossible to tell if one is the 666th person to view a thread, I recommend holding back when the number of views is approaching the devil’s number, and then waiting until some more cursed member of the board has made that dangerous viewing. Finally, it is highly encouraged not to post the 666th word in any thread, nor to make a single post where the word count reaches 666. Carry on (safely!). ---
