In what putrid peach-tree dish was that idea fertilized and encouraged to germinate? Who put the bee in whose bonnet? Has anyone actually nailed down that moment, those players, that location? I still hold trump responsible for the permission/encouragement/oomph that (1) didn’t stop it from happening and (2) allowed it to happen. It wouldn’t have happened without his evil blessing. But who came up with the idea in the first place? ---

There is a theory to the effect that the pipe bombs were intended to give Trump an excuse to declare martial law (particularly if they had killed people, possibly including Kamala Harris who was in the vicinity while the bombs were sitting there).
