Maybe any politician who enabled the Trump Chaos Machine that resulted in Jan. 6, sure. But not just _any_ politician! Any other politician would have recieved a grateful handshake. ---

McConnel’s speech included the importance of the constitution, which Trump just suggested should be disregarded, and McCarthy’s speech made sure to point out that not just the Capitol police, but _all_ police matter. ---

Their line is doubtlessly that the events of January 6 were a patriotic protest that in no way, shape, or form had any intent of dismantling the government or harming anybody, and that therefore fighting against it is akin to what liberals think of how cops were handling BLM. Whether they actually believe this or not is up for debate, to be sure. ---
