It’s commonly employed in situations where police are outnumbered, outgunned or if escalation of a situation would cause more problems for them than it would solve. I encourage you to study this before passing judgment on what the Capitol Police did that day. ---

We may be crossing wires because the footage I’m referring to showed a number of cops and one MAGA goon. Tuckums says the way the police treated Chansley proves he wasn’t out of line, I see another possibility. And I haven’t passed judgement, I just said I wouldn’t be surprised to learn such is the case. ---

(I missed the edit window) They wouldn’t be the first MAGA cultists in uniform, after all. But that’s not my point. This is my point, which is mine: Carlson’s claim, if true, which it isn’t, isn’t the win he must think it is. Chansley already pleaded guilty, so showing cops being friendly with him and showing him around wouldn’t make him look good or legitimize his presence, it only makes his tour guides look bad. I’m not saying the cops are obviously accomplices, just that Carlson’s making them look like it. ---
