A friend of mine is a diehard MAGA and sent me [the footage of](https://youtu.be/dtHUYpyi5-Y?si=xJF-zsn730OWA6rn) Nancy Pelosi “taking blame” for the political violence of January 6. I don’t a good counter for his viewpoint. I know he won’t see reason, no matter what happens, but (short of telling not to engage with him, because I just can’t stop myself) I don’t know how to counter this but of footage. I’m sure it’s taken out of context, but I haven’t been able to support that. Any help? ---

Ok, lets assume that it is in context. What exactly is the issue with Pelosi saying “I didn’t do a good enough job with security?” It’s a complete non-sequitor wrt Trump trying to overturn the election. ---

Show me some footage of Pelosi whipping-up a crowd into a frenzy with a bunch of lies and directing them to march down the street to the Capitol to disrupt a government proceeding, and I will start to take note of her “accountability” for what happened that day. ---

Pelosi also says in that clip, “why wasn’t the national guard there to begin with?” Very good question. Who’s responsibility is it to deploy the national guard? It’s the president’s. Where actual violence was happening. This is just an attempt to move responsibility off of trump and on to someone else. Keep the responsibility where it belongs. That would be my advice.
