That’s the same logic that my idiot cousin thinks exonerates Trump ——- the insurrectionists were already armed when they came to hear Trump speak, therefore Trump didn’t incite them! She also thinks the fact that some of the Capitol stormers were smoking weed means that it was really Antifa, because “Republicans don’t smoke pot”. Of course, Trump mostly incited the insurrection on Twitter, his speech was just the pre-game pep rally. ---

Immunity is right up there along with power, deference and adulation among the things Trump most enjoyed about holding the office. Imagine being a career adversary of the legal system _and suddenly becoming untouchable._ That must have been orgasmic for him, having the apparatus around him that would protect him so completely that he felt comfortable openly sneering at and taunting those powerless to enforce the law. ---
