Hmm…and the real question: there are parallels to the start of WWII and the current moves by Putin…frankly somewhat terrifying parallels. Hopefully he’s not as crazy and that diplomatic efforts can diffuse the current situation before we end up in another huge conflict. ---

This is a great resource. I didn’t realize the Tribune offered free access to its archives. Or it could be some misplaced boosterism by the Trib’s owner, Col McCormick, who always had some weird ideas about making Chicago No. 1.
