Selma’s dress is like some weird optical illusion… doesn’t it look like she has a huge right breast and a much smaller left? The left looks somehow diminished and oppressed by that fancy flourish of a tit sling. ---

Huh. So there IS a live orchestra after all. The SWAT team of orchestras–taking cues faster than a babbling producer! Yes, I did, just got back from CRASH at the Quad Cinema in Greenwich Village a few hours ago. BROKEBACK last Friday–OH WOW! ITZHAK PERLEMAN!! :eek: 😃🆒 --MUNICH on Tuesday, CAPOTE on Wednesday, GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK on Friday, CRASH today. Whew. Itzhak and the orchestra are performing the best damn presentation in this or any other Oscar show. ---

It was good, but I liked MUNICH’s score better. Of course, movies and themes and actors are all rattling around my head right now. More Itzhak! Itzhak at the Tonys, Itzhak at the Golden Globes, Itzhak at the Emmys… …and less Lauren Bacall. Poor dear. ---

Is it just me, or have there been a lot of not-so-subtle jabs at people for watching movies on DVDs and TV instead of going to the movie theater? Whatsisface from the Academy made his push, and Jake Gyllenhal just tried, too (although he had trouble keeping a straight face). ---

Funny. Most of these movies they’re showing I’ve only seen on a DVD. Or VHS. Except for the fairly recent ones like LotR and Titanic.
