Huh. I’m surprised that a guy who’s worked in Hollywood for so long has not learned English. Or _does_ he speak English and just doesn’t feel comfortable speaking it…? ---

Wouldn’t surprise me. He did spend a good bit of time around Italians back in the day and also is a bit of a intellectual IRL. ---
They changed the GM commercial?!
Yeah. A suicide-prevention organization thought that people would want to jump off a bridge and kill themselves after they saw the robot do it. ---

That was awkward, having Ennio Morricone standing there speaking Italian with Clint Eastwood translating later. A simultaneous professional translator would have been better. ---
Does Clint Eastwood speak Italian?
He must have picked it up making all the films in Italy. The so called Spaghetti Westerns. ---

Well, he did spend all those years making spaghetti westerns, but methinks he was reading a translation. Ennio might be able to get by in English but wanted to make the biggest speech of his life as himself. Maybe, I don’t know for sure. And yes, I know that, on paper, Celine was singing in English. ---

Am I being ridiculously PC or oversensitive for being _slightly_ put off by that Babel guy finishing his speech with “Por todos Latinos!”? I can understand saying something in support of the fellow nominees from your _country_, but championing your racial/ethnic/cultural/whatever-is-used-to-describe-Latinos group is just a bit… ---

Awww, Arndt for LMS! He was adorable. I’ve heard they have 45 seconds, but it sounds longer. They haven’t done the Bring Out Yer Dead montage yet, have they? That’s usually in the second hour.
