So far, so good! I’ve liked the Errol Morris film, the Pilobolus bits, and the Foley sound choir. And even the Will Ferrell/Jack Black bit (where was Ben Stiller?) had a good point about comedies (and comedians) getting the shaft. At least they’re not using actors or groups of dancers to do interpretations of the best original songs. (Have they done that since the legendary fiasco with Rob Lowe many years ago?) A question for overseas Dopers watching this in the middle of the night (or later in your morning): are you planning on taking Monday off as a personal day, or is there a bank holiday or something similar conveniently scheduled for tomorrow, or what? Is Oscar-related absenteeism a big phenomenon where you live? ---

It seems odd to me since the mixing portion is analogous to film editing while sound editing is more like cinematography, but that breakdown makes sense. ---
