82-0 NBA simulation game

I dunno if people that read the NBA thread will look for this, but there’s a soccer WC one too 8-0.app

I managed to get 8 wins, but damn it seems hard.

I really don’t know if this is all stats based. If it was someone like Landon Donovan is one of the greatest players of all time rather than a ~replacement level player. Also on my 8-0 I think the defense has arguably 3 of the best players ever at their position while the offense has none and the offense is higher rated.

guyssss I did it after 13 tries

Man some teams like Indiana really don’t have a single player you want in any era.

78-4:

Kareem from the '70s Bucks.
Duncan from the '00s Spurs.
Dominique from the '90s Clippers.
DeRozan from the '20s Bulls.
LeBron from the '10s Cavs.

Westbrook Pegler was a basketball player in the 1920s? You learn something new every day.

Did I get the highest score possible? 116.0 points.
2020s Luka
00s Kobe
00s Grant Hill
90s Bird
60s Wilt (cheat code)

Pretty sure someone up thread had something 159 ppg, but not bad!

I was referring to the overall score at the end of 116. Not PPG lol.

I’ve seen a few overall scores over 120, but it’s uncommon.

Oh, i had not even noticed that.

Dunno. My first undefeated team only had a score of 110.2, and that was with Toronto-era Pascal Siakam as arguably the weakest link.

Not positive exactly of what would constitute “the perfect team” in this exercise … but I submit that the following is very close:

  • 2020s Luka Doncic
  • 80s Michael Jordan
  • 2010s Lebron James
  • 80s Larry Bird
  • 60s Wilt Chamberlain (yes, his 60s Warriors stats are a cheat code)

Or maybe this similar team, trading some assists for a good bump in rebounding:

  • 2020s Giannis A. (or is his best season late 2010s? Whatever his best is)
  • 2020s Luka Doncic
  • 1980s Michael Jordan
  • 2010s Lebron James
  • 1960s Wilt Chamberlain

Has anyone tried the game today? Looks like they are trying to switch to needing an account. It’s basically unusable now.

Yeah, I signed up for an account but I currently can’t get the left button to work.

I decided to play on HoopIQ mode because having the statistics served up to me didn’t seem especially necessary. After a handful of attempts, I managed to post a 79-3 record with 2020s Luka Doncic at point guard, 2010s Damian Lillard at shooting guard, 2000s LeBron James at small forward, 2010s Kevin Durant at power forward and 1970s Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at center. I’m assuming a couple of those losses were a result of having to settle for that slacker Lillard and his (checks notes) 23.5 points per game. I know … woe is me, right?
