I really thought Linklater would get this one. Maybe Birdman best picture, but I thought that the multi-year project would win over something more arty. ---

Pan’s Labyrinth was probably the best chance so far, though I actually think Hellboy 2 is his best movie so far. Crimson Peak is unlikely I think to get it for him, though. ---

Didn’t see Redmayne’s performance, but I have heard it’s excellent. I have to think that the playing a disability part does give you a headstart when it comes to the Oscars, however. No Oscar for Billy Blazejowski. ---
