Hitchcock was probably annoyed that they never gave him a Best Director Oscar. ---

How are they going to feel if they are the only ones unmentioned? Not that easy now, is it? ---

I’m just gonna say it: Guardians of the Galaxy was the best movie of the year. I say that having seen and enjoyed all of the Oscar nominees, and having just re-watched Guardians. If Guardians had been nominated, I would have had a really hard time selecting between it and The Grand Budapest Hotel as my favorite. Love them both, but I think I would have gone with Guardians. And I think these are the two movies from this year that will become cultural touchstones with the passage of time. There, I said it. ---

The wife and I watched _Birdman_ this weekend. It was good. But that makes seven of the eight nominees we’ve seen, the exception being _Selma_, and of those seven I would have given the Best Picture Oscar to _Boyhood_.
