Troofers claim that the floor slabs were constructed of C4 coated rebar, or all the charges were placed on every floor in the weeks beforehand. Or is was the soopersekrit thermite that melted columns so no explosions were heard, yet exploded with enough force to hurl steel members hundreds of feet and dustify all the concrete, or it was cruise missiles, disguised with holograms to look like planes (or everyone lied about seeing planes), or it was mininukes, or hurricane powered beams from orbit…
It never fucking ends with these people.
There was a certain reluctance among some people to believe these events as the information came to light, but there was never a period when the information was not being brought forth on a regular basis to expose what had actually happened.
The Allied political leaders chose to not broadcast the information they had about the death camps out of a misguided sense that it would “interfere” with the war effort, but there were no intrepid news reporters trying to get the word out onlyto be derided.
The Cambodian bombings were carried out in secret, but they were recognized for what they were as soon as news of them was released.
Nixon’s assault on the Constitution comes closer, in that it was a genuine conspiracy, but as with any actual conspiracy, it was carried out by a small handful of people, which is what is required to keep such information secret.
The Tuskeegee experiment was, again, not revealed by intrepid reporters posting information against attempts to suppress it. It was actually published in the medical journals during its progress and was simply ignored by most people as not relevant to their lives, (since it was being inflicted on poor black men).
So, your actual claim is without foundation. None of these were ever exposed by “crazy conspiracy theorists.”
That’s a new one. When did the rule about it having to have been uncovered by a crazy conspiracy theorist before it could be considered a bona fide conspiracy, come into effect?
It was** palindromemordnilap** who claimed that “conspiracy theorists” uncovered Nazi genocide, the Cambodian bombings etc., when they did not.
When actual conspiracies (or just secret activities in general) are revealed, it consistently has been folks like investigative reporters, whistleblowers or co-conspirators that expose them. Conspiracy theorists and their networks of loons are only good for gossiping and endlessly exchanging half-baked theories that have already been debunked.
My favourite is the one where the US Postal Service is responsible. Never mind the CIA, the Bavarian Illuminati, the Bilderberg group, Neo Cons, Israel, shape shifting lizards and all the rest. You don’t fuck with the postman.
The only conspiracy theory which puzzles me is the controlled demolitions used on building seven. It was explained to me that it had suffered massive fire damage after the collapse of the two towers and had to be brought down. That I can buy. But after talking to a friend of mine who brings buildings down for a living, I’m not so sure. He claims that it would of taken weeks to set a building up for controlled demolition. How could it of been set up so quickly?
I gotta do some research…
You’re mistaken. The firefighters concluded the building wasn’t saveable so they stopped any firefighting efforts and let it just burn to the point of collapse. There was no controlled demolition of any structures. The falling debris caused enough damage and started the fires that brought WTC 7 down.
Cite for that? Note that identifying that the failure of a single beam triggered the progressive collapse of the entire building does not at all translate to a single beam holding up the whole place.
Telemark, you’re correct. The one video shown here is used primarily by 9/11 truthers as evidence that demolitions were used because Silverstein himself used the phrase ‘we decided to pull it’. However, I just found out that ‘pull it’ is a common phrase used by fire fighters as a code meaning: “let it burn it self out… everyone clear out”. Heh, 10 minutes of Google research…
I’ve still never comprehended why people would go through the trouble of setting up a demolition (with all the associated risks of being caught, etc), if you are just going to ram a plane into a building anyway. Entirely and utterly bogus…
Wow… the one thing that struck me from the article you posted was the white smoke pluming out of building seven. It DOES seem at odds with the normal black smoke you see from a structural fire.
Jesus, I’m going into tin-foil hat land. MUST…RESTRAIN…MYSELF
Charlie Sheen is a real crackpot (as an aside, I like what someone Tweeted about him recently—“he’s going to leave Two and a Half Men and try his hand at comedy”).
My biggest issue with the conspiracy stuff is (aside from the fact that they never provide evidence, just flight-of-fancy questioning) why anyone would risk setting up explosives for a building that a plane will be flown into. That’s such an absurd risk to take that could’ve sunk the entire plot if found out. Or, considering how devastating OK City’s attack was, why not JUST blow up the building, and at a time when most people would’ve been inside it?
Just like global warming spawns experts in atmospheric sciences does 911 generate self-proclaimed experts in the principles of physics…
Was disappointed to see Willie Nelson on the above list, as I’m a fan but the rest of 'em—Heidi from The Hills, Garofalo, etc…pretty dopey…
